2. Electrode Manufacturing: The next step is to manufacture the electrodes, which are the key components of the battery. This involves coating thin layers of active materials (such as lithium cobalt oxide for lithium-ion batteries) onto metal foil substrates (such as aluminum for the cathode and copper for the anode) through processes like slurry coating and calendaring.

3. Cell Assembly: Once the electrodes are prepared, they are assembled into battery cells. This involves stacking the positive and negative electrodes together with separators in between, and then winding or stacking them into a cylindrical or prismatic cell format. Electrolyte is then added to the cell to facilitate ion movement.
